Claire qualified as a Chartered Physiotherapist at Coventry University in 1993 and worked in a number of NHS hospitals gaining a broad based physiotherapy education until specialising in the assessment, treatment and management of musculoskeletal injuries.
Claire left the NHS to undertake a MSc in Physiotherapy at UCL, also gaining membership of the Musculoskeletal Association of Chartered Physiotherapist (MACP). Following this she worked at Gosling Physiotherapy clinic treating a wide range of spinal, joint and soft tissue injuries. This included working at Roche Pharmaceuticals in their Occupational Health Department where she set up Pilates Classes. Working with the Lawn Tennis Association’s youth squad increased her knowledge of treating adolescents with sports injuries. Her experience of sporting injuries was furthered by attending training sessions and touring with the Women’s England Volleyball team as the treating team physiotherapist.
She re-entered the NHS in 2004 working as a clinical specialist physiotherapist at Stevenage and Orthopaedic Physiotherapy Practitioner. After having children Claire moved to Hertford County Hospital, initially combining the two roles. In the last couple of years she has worked solely as an Orthopaedic Physiotherapy Practitioner, seeing GP referrals and referring for a wide range of investigations including MRI and managing patients within community services and referring to consultants if surgery or spinal injections are needed. She has continued physiotherapy privately.
